It is a fragile, human-linked habitat providing a stop-over site for a variety of species in thousands of numbers every year at the time of return migration to their breeding territories in the North. Bakkhali Jambudweep Feb 2020

The society organised a survey trip to Bakkhali and Jambudweep on 8th February and 9th February 2020. The trip was primarily for surveying waders. It was done with assistance from the Forest Department of West Bengal. Total of 12 members participated in the survey. We reached Bakkhali on 8th at about 11 am and quickly conducted a count on the Kargil Beach. The sky was overcast with slight hint of rain.

Malda Field Trip Jan 2020

The society organised a survey trip to Malda on 11th and 12th January 2020. The trip was primarily for surveying of the Ganges sandflats and its surrounding lands. A total of fifteen members participated in the survey. The group reached Malda on 11th Jan at around 5am.
